History: Eshalois was born in Bastok, only child of one of the few Hume families to live in the Mines district there. Her mother was an adventurer, a bard, often away on grand journeys that she would later tell stories of to her eager and impressionable daughter. Her father was a member of the Alchemists' Guild, and often hoped his daughter would follow in his footsteps. She had inherited her mother's wanderlust, however, and moved into the adventurers' Residential District as soon as she was old enough. That has been her permanent residence ever since, though she often visits San d'Oria, Jeuno, and Windurst. It was in Jeuno that she heard of Square-Enix University. Always interested in learning and going new places, she decided to apply. A major in Political Science intrigued her, since if she ever settles down, she would like to work for one of the Bastok Consulates or even the Embassy in Jeuno. At any rate, as she gains more influence in her home nation and others, any skills can help.
Personality: Eshalois is very straightforward, preferring honesty to even a little white lie. She does know how to put the truth kindly, but it is still the truth. She tends to try to deal with a problem alone, going in with fists flying literally or figuratively, and it takes death or near death for her to admit she needs help, even from a friend. Still she never hesitates to help another, often healing her party members or even complete strangers when she is a white mage at the expense of her own health. Favored methods of stress relief include beating the crap out of weak "critters."
